General Information
Q: Are your certifications OSHA and Washington State L&I compliant?
A: Yes. All our courses meet or exceed OSHA requirements and Washington State Labor & Industries (L&I) safety standards. We follow the latest American Heart Association (AHA) and ECC guidelines to ensure your certification is recognized nationwide.

Q: Who is OBG?
A: OBG — Original Baby Gangster — is our blue infant manikin and the unofficial mascot of CPR Kitsap. He has attended every single class since Compressions for Life opened in 2011. Never missed a session. Never complained. Always volunteers for the choking demonstration.
OBG plays a critical role in every Heartsaver and BLS class — he is how students learn infant CPR and choking rescue techniques. He is small, blue, and surprisingly popular.
When you take a class with us you will meet OBG in person. Fair warning — he will expect a back massage during the choking portion. It is his favorite part.
Fun fact: OBG recently missed his first ever class. He was found in the garage crawling toward the sauna. Everyone deserves a break.
Scheduling & Location
Q: Do you offer on-site CPR training for businesses in Kitsap County?
A: Absolutely. We specialize in bringing the classroom to you. Whether you are a dental office in Silverdale, a construction crew in Port Orchard, or a federal entity at Naval Base Kitsap, we can provide on-site training for groups of [8] or more.
Q: How long does a CPR certification last?
A: Most certifications, including AHA and Red Cross, are valid for two years. We recommend booking your renewal course 30 days before your current card expires to stay compliant.
Course Experience
Q: I’m a "first-timer." Is the class difficult?
A: Not at all! Our classes are firefighter-led, meaning we focus on practical, real-world skills rather than just textbooks. We pride ourselves on a stress-free environment where you leave feeling confident, not overwhelmed.
Q: Do I receive my card the same day?
A: Yes. We issue certification cards promptly upon successful completion of the course, so you can provide proof of certification to your employer immediately.
Q: Do you have a quick reference guide I can keep after class?
Yes! We created a free two-sided Emergency Quick Reference Card
covering CPR, AED use, choking rescue, severe bleeding control,
stroke recognition, and heart attack signs — all in one place.
Designed by your local firefighter paramedics at Compressions
for Life. Print it, laminate it, and keep it on your fridge or
in your first aid kit.
