At Compression For Life LLC, we believe that emergency preparedness shouldn’t just be a checkbox on a compliance form—it should be a confidence-building experience.

Founded and led by local firefighters, our mission is to bring “street-level” experience into the classroom. We don’t just teach from a manual; we teach from years of responding to 911 calls right here in the Kitsap Peninsula. We know what it’s like when seconds count, and we use that perspective to ensure our students leave our classes ready to act.

Why We Started

After years on the front lines, we realized that the best way to save lives wasn’t just responding to emergencies—it was empowering the community to intervene before we even arrive. We saw a need for CPR and First Aid training that was practical, stress-free, and taught by professionals who actually use these skills in the field.

Today, we are proud to be the premier training partner for:

  • Healthcare Providers: Nurses, EMTs, and Dental professionals in Bremerton and Silverdale.
  • Federal & Military Entities: Providing OSHA-compliant training for Naval Base Kitsap and local defense contractors.
  • The Kitsap Community: Parents, teachers, coaches, and local business owners who want the best for their families and staff.

Meet Kevin Bernt

Lead Instructor

Firefighter/Paramedic & Senior EMS Instructor

Kevin Bernt is the lead instructor and the driving force behind Compression For Life’s commitment to elite safety education. Currently serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Kitsap County community, Kevin brings active, high-level emergency medical expertise directly from the front lines into the classroom.

With over 20 years of experience teaching pre-hospital medical courses, Kevin serves as a Senior EMT Instructor for Kitsap County Emergency Medical Services (KCEMS). His passion for education is backed by significant academic achievement, holding five degrees, including a Master of Science in Public and Fire Administration.

Under Kevin’s leadership, all certifications are professionally monitored and strictly aligned with the Inland Northwest Health Service (INHS) training center, ensuring every student receives gold-standard certification recognized nationwide.
